A Week in the Baltics small group tour was the perfect way to see and understand these countries. The hotels were superb. The itinerary was just right. Our tour director was knowledgeable and took care of us in every way. He is one of the best of the 27 tours we have taken with Tauck. It was a great week. Carl L. Zielonka, DDS (RETIRED)

Most Memorable Moment:

The Jewish tour of Riga.

This was an excellent trip. It covers a lot of ground in a short period of time which can be both good and bad. For us, we wanted to get a taste of 4 new countries and we loved it. The hotels were fantastic and well located. The food was delicious. We enjoyed meeting many interesting people. This was our first trip with Tauck. It won't be our last!

Most Memorable Moment:

Hard to pick just one. We were surprised by how great Tallin and Riga were, so that was a special treat.

Our 7th Tauck trip was a unique chance to compare the Baltic capitals and see the countryside of the Baltics. The Kempinski Hotel in Vilnius was undoubtedly among the best of all the hotels we have experienced. Local guides were good. Weather was moderately rainy. Extra time in Lithuania to see Hill of Crosses on way to Riga would have been a plus!

Most Memorable Moment:

Eating traditional Lithuanian food just like my mother used to make! (at Forto Dvaras in Vilnius). Also the castle at Trakai, and the concert in Helsinki. 4-stars, despite the weather!

Vilnius was good, Riga awesome location of the hotel right in the heart of the city with everything in walking distance. Tallinn not so good hotel. It was outside the old town. Transport to the old town gave us a choice of 30 minutes or 4 hours after a walking tour at 8 am when most of the town was closed. Hotel air conditioner was preset to hot!

Most Memorable Moment:

Attending an organ concert at the cathedral in Riga ( on our own)

A most wonderful Week in the Baltics

We learned so much about this beautiful and historic part of the world that has had a very complicated history and tragic recent past. It is amazing how much beauty has survived despite the occupations of this region by Hitler and Stalin. The local guides and other people we met were wonderful and enthusiastic about their future - rightly so.

Most Memorable Moment:

Wandering the lovely streets of the upper Old Town in Tallinn listening to our guide Evelyn tell stories of life under the Soviet Union
