British Isles Westbound

Small ship cruising reinforced that we prefer River Cruising because the rooms on the small ship are too small. We paid a premium upgrade for our room and were disappointed in the small room. Don't know what the upgrade price gave us--would not like to see what we would have had if we hadn't paid the upgrade price.

Most Memorable Moment:

The one place we loved was "The Giant's Causeway". One of the most beautiful places we have seen. If the Blarney Castle were not located at Cork, there would no reason to visit Cork. The electric train at Isle of Man was fun, but once you made it to the top, we were informed that it is usually "foggy" and you can't see anything.

Great way to visit/revisit British/Irish Cities & Isles

Cruising on “Le Soleal” was a wonderfully unique way to visit/revisit British/Irish cities and isles. Tauck Tour Directors and all local guides were excellent. Choice of shore excursions a real plus. Ship’s crew and all amenities, the best! Weather, on balance, was very good, and better than expected. Best surprises…Isle of Man and Portsmouth.

Most Memorable Moment:

Guernsey WWII Occupation excursion and ½ day London city tour were most memorable for me. Belfast and Liverpool runners up.

Wonderful way to see some great islands that could otherwise be tough to get to. Our Tauck tour director was fabulous!! Amazing gardens, museums, and sightseeing. Ship was great, with friendly and accommodating staff.

Most Memorable Moment:

Probably Guernsey, as we're interested in WWII history, but every stop was wonderful in its own unique way.

Small ship to small islands!

while were were interested in seeing a bit of England, we were really focused on seeing the 'small' islands and Ireland. We enjoyed the tour of Guernsey, Tresco, St. Mary's and the Isle of Man. Each of these was unique and only available on a cruise like this. The visit to Kinsale and Isle of Man will probably be what we remember the best.

Most Memorable Moment:

The sights on the Isle of Man were excellent - a castle, a thatched village, a nature preserve near Kitterland, and then a steam-powered train ride back to the town. Tresco Abbey Garden was beautiful -- we took LOTS of photos there. The Book of Kells and the Library was quite memorable. (Hard to pick 1 favorite, but I'd go back to Isle of Man!)

The wrong time of year for a good trip

The weather was awful.....needs to be in June, July August The ship Le Soleal was wonderful Repeated city tour in Dublin from port and then next day, the same thing. Our tour guide was very disorganized. Very lovable but not a good guide. Wasted the first day in Dublin riding around wasting time. Too late getting to hotel (5:30)

Most Memorable Moment:

Guinness factory's as fun..... But too much wasted time on first day off ship in Dublin

Cruising British Isles

Cruising in April was a concern with rough waters, but this was not so. Ship kept the rocking to a minimum. Crew was excellent as was the food. The isles were all unique and enjoyable to see. Liverpool and the Beatles Experience helped me to relive my youth. Also found the Titanic Museum fascinating since it included a history of Belfast also.

Most Memorable Moment:

Visiting Guernsey and learning about the German occupation in WWII was the most memorable. I had read about this but actually seeing the location and museum made it more real.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the British Isles. It was a great opportunity to see a lot of different places and experience it with others. I was greatly impressed by the way Tauck had everything arranged, and the Tauck tour guides were FANTASTIC!. I really sensed that the guides were there to make sure that the tour was enjoyable.

Most Memorable Moment:

Hard to pinpoint one moment. Going to different ports each day was both exciting and interesting. There was almost too much to take in each day.
