Family Fun Along the Seine: Paris to Normancy

Overall Rating: 1 2 3 4 5

This trip was so rich that the memories are lingering. I am sure one of the reasons this trip was so wonderful was that I could spend time with my grandchildren whom I don't see very often. Knowing that Tauck was handling reservations, activities, and even food issues, allowed me to just enjoy this new adventure with my family and new friends.

Most Memorable Moment:

Watching my grandson place a white rose on a cross at Normandy was truly a wonderful mix of emotions: patriotism, sense of history, hope for the future. A gem of a moment I won't forget. By the way, my granddaughter said she wants to be a Tauck tour director when she grows up.

My adult son and I traveled with his 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son. This was a wonderful, fun trip for all of us with plenty of age appropriate activities for both the kids and the adults. The children made friends and LOVED playing cards each day. (?? Who could have guessed??)

Most Memorable Moment:

The military museum proved to be our favorite. Everyone was invited to ride in military vehicles, hold authentic WWII weapons, dress in military uniforms, and listen to a delightful retired British General explain salient points about the D Day invasion.

Trip was perfect, highlights of Paris, trip to Versailles, Rouen, and a day viewing, experiencing the beaches of Normandy, including a stop where my father walked on the Omaha Beach, climbed over the dune, up the hill past the German bunkers and big guns on D-Day+1. Tauck and Cruise staff were great, food too! Loved every minute of tour.

Most Memorable Moment:

The full day experiencing the Normandy Beaches, plus lunch at Eiffel Tour, group entrance and tours of Louvre, Monet's Gardens and Palace of Versailles, interacting with the Tauck and Cruise staff, meeting new friends and all of the great meals. Relaxing on the top deck sailing the Seine at night, chatting with family and friends.

The Great and the Not So Great

The Tauck tour directors were outstanding. They kept the children entertained and enthused. The Paris hotel was only so-so, In the definitely not so great department: how do you have a tour to the WWII iI invasion beaches and not visit the German bunkers. We did not have time to complete the Paris bike tour and at Versailles had to choose between

Most Memorable Moment:

Introducing a grandchild to the world is great & Tauck provides an excellent vehicle.

The cruise was terrific. My grandson had the best time of his life, and it was really fun seeing all the kids interact, thanks to the activities planned by the cruise directors. Life on-board the Swiss Emerald was first class with excellent food and wonderful service. The tour of Monet's gardens and was outstanding as well as the visit to Rouen.

Most Memorable Moment:

Visiting the beaches of Normandy and the related D-Day Academy as well as hearing the history of the whole area of Normandy, including the climb to the castle of Richard the Lionhearted, were the most memorable moments.
