We had a great trip. The tours were awesome. The planes were great. The Hotels were great except for two locations. Our group leader was knowledgable and did a very good job.

Most Memorable Moment:

The jet boat ride in New Zealand was the most fun. The trip was far above average.

We journeyed to Australia and New Zealand on our first Tauck trip but definitely not our last. The locales and events selected were fantastic, the care of the tour director was great, and locale guides were knowledgeable, instructive and entertaining. We never had a bad meal and the vast majority were excellent even in places we would not expect.

Most Memorable Moment:

We find it hard to identify any one particular moment that stands out more than another since most were so great. We did enjoy New Zealand more than Australia but that had more to do with the intrinsic beauty of the country rather than the planned events. The best part of the trip was the excellent tour director and fellow travelers.

Superb! From Melbourne and Sydney to the outback at Alice Springs and Cairns. Tauck really knows how to provide the best in food, spirits sites to see. The private air charters were great. New Zealand was as beautiful as I had heard for years. Great itinerary at both countries. Tauck will be our touring company choice for years to come.

Most Memorable Moment:

For my wife being able to cuddle two orphaned joeys on our bus ride from Alice Springs to Uluru. This was not a planned event but special. For me every location visited was memorable. Every day of our trip was one of my favorites. I like viewing wildlife so every encounter was special. The Hot Air Balloon ride was our first and superb.

Well planned and executed from start to finish, no detail or special touch was ignored. So much to see so little time; TAUCK made every effort to fill the day with events, activities and meaningful sites. We over-ate, but that's our fault, great dining choices, great dining venues. The charter flights made this trip work because of the distances

Fantastic countries. Excellent tours. Amazing views. Everything worked as planned thanks to a fantastic Tour Director, and the group that shared the tour with us was spectacular! Private Jet is a big plus (Go Tauck!). Hotels excellent, food was amazing and the distinctive activities were the best of it. Local tour guides great!

Most Memorable Moment:

We were excited to have experienced 20 days of everything these 2 countries had to offer. We felt we didn't miss anything. Tauck knows how to provide you with the ultimate activities that any seasoned traveler walks away with and says WOW - truly an experience of a lifetime. Our tour Director Gary was an added plus.

Most Memorable Moment:

Too many to name, all planned activities were outstanding. We particularly enjoyed everything Queenstown had to offer. Probably the most impressive thing about the whole trip was that we got off each of our 6 private flights directly onto an awaiting bus and never during the 3 weeks did we touch our luggage.

Loved the trip down under particularly New Zealand. However the issues I had along the way with the Tauck tour director soured the whole experience. I will not elaborate however we believe after many trips with Tauck, that relationship has crashed and burned. Sad. Nobody at Tauck has addressed the issues.

Most Memorable Moment:

Since it was highly negative and if I have nothing good to say I opt to say nothing, my silence here should speak volumes. However go to New Zealand. Most beautiful country we’ve ever visited and would live there in a minute if not for the distance from my children and grandchildren.

Tauck always does a first-class job with their tours, and this was no exception. All hotels, except one, had 5 star rating. Our tour director, Tom, was exceptional. He was so informative and adept at handling all situations with seeming ease. We had so many exciting adventures-snorkling Great Barrier reef, jet Boat ride, zip line, etc. Awesome!

Most Memorable Moment:

Dinner at restaurant in top of tallest building in New Zealand and watching people jumping off the top of the building with a cable attached to them. Dinner was outstanding, view amazing and much astonishment at watching people willingly participate in the crazy action of jumping off that building.

This was our second trip with Tauck. It was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and it was everything we expected and more. Australia was great. Loved our trip to Uluru, a great tour of the Sydney Opera House, and my Sydney bridge climb. Fun time at Hartley's Crocodile farm and holding a Koala. On to New Zealand for Jet Boat. All Perfect!

Most Memorable Moment:

There were so many. Had many super meals. Our hotels were top of the line. Our Tour Director did a great job. Met many new friends. In fact, a group of us are planning another Tauck trip in 2020 - South Africa: An Elegant Adventure! So, the whole trip was memorable, even a monsoon in Cairns! Loved it all.

Nice sampler of Australia and New Zealand with private flights to most places to get you there quickly. Plenty of delicious food. Hotels and in country flights nicer in Australia than NZ. But the scenery in NZ was the best, especially the south island. Highly variable March weather throughout trip. Added many additional tours throughout trip.

Most Memorable Moment:

The tour had several memorable moments including enjoying the mountains of Queenstown, and holding a koala in Cairns. Our tour was also enhanced by several of our add on tours - Great Ocean Road, Sydney Opera, Sydney bridge climb, Glow Worms in Te Anu, Hobbiton tour.

Most Memorable Moment:

A flood of historic proportions while we were on the Great Barrier Reef flooded out a bridge that prevented us from getting back to the Silky Oaks Lodge. The quiet and efficient work of our Tauck Director, Tauck and the owner of Silky Oaks provided about 25 of us all the comforts we needed at the Sheraton. Turned out to be a fun adventure!

Hotels were over the top (Shangri La in Sydney had direct view of Sydney Bridge and Opera House).

We found the food far exceeded the quality we experienced on Tauck’s river cruises. We especially enjoyed Uluru, Sydney, Queenstown, and the stay at Silky Oaks.

Most Memorable Moment:

Most Memorable Moment:

I loved Silky Oaks Lodge in Mossman, located in a tropical rain forest. Such a unique experience. Wide range of social and cultural variety: big and small cities, the outback, rain forests, fiords (that's fiords), big rocks, and all kinds of water. Excellent tour director: caring, informative and entertaining. Tour stops, excursions, hotels and meals - all gloriously excessive.

Most Memorable Moment:

Actually moments: seeing the Sydney Opera House, touring it, floating around it, and watching La Traviata in it.

It was a great itinerary with visits to many wonderful and memorable places. The natural beauty of New Zealand is breathtaking. We very much enjoyed activities such as jet boat ride and helicopter rides, and cruising the Milford Sound. The only negative was that there were too many heavy meals where a lot of food was wasted.

Most Memorable Moment:

Visit to the Great Barrier Reef with a helicopter ride and snorkeling.

Covered thousands of miles, days crammed with activities and travel. Charter flights were an unexpected but necessary bonus. Could not have survived the journey on commercial airlines. Too many short stays in major towns, too many early calls especially the 6AM call on 1/1 after we had been at the fireworks. Would not do a like trip again.

Most Memorable Moment:

Sydney Opera House concert (paid for by me); jet boat ride in Queenstown; boat tour on Milford Sound; helicopter ride from Great Barrier reef to shore (paid for by me). LEAST FAVORITE and disappointing was snorkeling the G.B.Reef in murky water with 300 strangers. Charter a smaller boat to a secluded area of the reef.

We did a 19 day tour with 40 people and had a blast. The tours were great and we had down/on your own time when we needed it. The "on your own" time was great because we had the option to either do side trips ( tour guide gave us handouts with suggestions), explore the city/area where we were staying or just stay and lounge at the hotel.

Most Memorable Moment:

There were two - The hot air balloon ride in Cairns was fantastic and worth getting up at the un-godly hour of 3 am to catch a bus at 4 to take us to the lift-off site. The other was Skippers Canyon at Queenstown. The bus ride in was part of the adventure, jet boat was a "wow" and the helicopter ride back out of the canyon was a nice finish.

TAUCK RESPONSE

Thank you for taking the time to write a Trip Review and offer a few suggestions. As far as including the flight between Australia and New Zealand in the cost of the tour, we cannot do that because it is an International flight and therefore must be included with the International Air ticket. This Trip Is Worth The Jet Lag

Mostly perfect with a one travel bump. Luggage logistics and Tauck's management of checked luggage was key to traveling almost a month. The private charter flights within two countries eliminates time consuming security checks and delays. No lost luggage this way either. One bump is Qantus. Would be nice if Tauck could partner with Air New Zealand.

Most Memorable Moment:

There is not one. But a hot air balloon flight, Sydney Opera House tour, Ayers Rock and the desert country & all the quality hotels come to mind. All of New Zealand can be included in the look-back, but green mussels on a Milford Sound boat trip, Skippers Canyon Road drive and sailing on an ancient coal fired boat to dinner one night were unique.

Without having your own private jet, Tauck is the only way to cover AU and NZ in 3 weeks. The private chartered plane allowed us to see Uluru in the Outback in the a.m. and be in the rainforest near Cairns in the afternoon. Try sailing Marlborough Sound one day and Milford Sound the next without a private jet. Stir in a great tour guide-perfection.

Most Memorable Moment:

It had to be the day we drove the harrowing Skipper's Canyon Rd to take the jet boat ride in the Canyon, followed by the helicopter ride to the top of Bob's Peak, followed by the skyline gondola ride (some actually paraglided or ziplined) back down into Queenstown. How can you top that in one day? It was emotional overload in the best way possible.

We loved this trip. We wanted to see Uluru as well as other major features of the two countries. We went two days early to visit with a couple that we met on a Tauck trip to Spain/Portugal and that was special. Our TD was excellent. It was a good group. We had a variety of experiences, cultural and adventure. Flying between stops was advantageous

Most Memorable Moment:

So many special moments. Reconnecting with our friends was a highlight. Uluru, Sydney, Shotover River jet boat ride, Marlborough cruise, Milford Sound, all wonderful. We waited a long time to visit "Down Under"; it was worth the wait! Tauck does a great job. It is a long trip to get there, so we appreciate the variety of activities Tauck plans.

Even the coach drivers added more information. Super hotels and dining. Silky Oaks Lodge may be the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. And all charter flights!!!

Most Memorable Moment:

Just when we thought we had hit a high point - the next activity was even better. So impossible to answer - but if we had to pick one it would be visiting Uluru with our local guide.

This was one of the best Tauck tours we have ever taken. There was almost nothing we would have changed. We only regret we could not have spent more time in Sydney and in New Zealand. The activities were terrific and well timed to allow some down time to recuperate from the fast pace, the food was fabulous, and the hotels were superb.

Most Memorable Moment:

It's hard to choose just one - possibly the jet boat ride in New Zealand. But the entire tour was memorable and wonderful! Highly recommend this tour!

Australia and New Zealand is a 5-star trip, but I couldn't rate it "best vacation ever" as the 3 other Tauck trips we've taken have also been outstanding. We enjoyed our time in Australia, but New Zealand dazzles; the scenery alone is worth the trip (yes, even though it took us 36 hours to get home). We saw a lot in just 20 days thanks to Tauck!

Most Memorable Moment:

Most memorable for us was the scenery in New Zealand - blue lakes, snow-capped mountains, rolling farmland dotted with sheep and cattle. Plus, details such as sunset at Uluru, seeing, "in person," the Great Barrier Reef and Sydney Opera House, photo shoot with a koala, Fiordland Natl Park, jet boat ride on Shotever River, ad infinitum....

Trip itinerary was fantastic! Wouldn't change a thing. Only suggestion I have is to shorten the trip by one day. By the last day in Auckland, most were exhausted and felt that the trip to Waiheke Island was unnecessary. Perhaps eliminating the sunset at Ayers Rock and tightening up the schedule elsewhere, the last day can be dropped.

Most Memorable Moment:

I would say the two sound cruses on Marlborough and Milford Sounds and the day in QUeenstown when we jet boated and went on the helicopter ride.

Most Memorable Moment:

Your Tour director was priceless. He really made the trip most enjoyable. Would like to join him again on different tour some day. You do not want to loose him!

Most Memorable Moment:

So many to choose from to hard. When we were at Sidney Airport to go to New Zealand and the ticketing line was so long we were going to miss our plane and some how Tom got another Line to open up for us that was pretty memorable for us.

This was our 5th trip with Tauck. All our trips have been great. This trip was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Tom, the tour director, went above and beyond. He was fabulous. He made sure everything went smoothly and always had a smile on his face. Everything about this trip was perfect including Tauck's private plane.

Most Memorable Moment:

Watching the mountains change colors at sunset was breath taking. New Zealand had the most beautiful scenery. Everything on this trip was memorable.

Absolutely the best trip we have ever taken. Yes Australia and New Zealand are amazing places with wonderful people but the way Tauck does it is what made it the best trip ever. Every day was better than the last and "special" events galore!!!

Most Memorable Moment:

Every day!Wine at a sunset view of Ayers Rock, diving and ballooning at the Great Barrier Reef. Private tour of the Sydney Opera House followed by our private sail and lunch on Sydney Harbor. The chartered plane in New Zealand, mussels and white wine on the Marlborough Sound to the tour of Fjord land. Jet Boat, Helicopter and zipline in Queenstown!

We took the 24 day trip. Our tour director, Kait, was excellent. I say that because not everything went as planned due to a cyclone in the Cairns region. Kait spent many hours making sure we not only had great alternative activities, but also that we eventually got to Cairns. When the going gets tough, excellence stands out.

Most Memorable Moment:

We had many, it is hard to pick just one. Going 50mph in a jet boat on a small river, going over a mountain ridge in a helicopter, hand feeding kangaroos and wallabies, the star party in the Outback at night, looking at 3000+ waterfalls in Milford Sound, exploring Ayers Rock.

The trip was great. We covered a lot of territory, saw many great sights, had wonderful meals and the best guide ever - Kait Richardson. A cyclone caused some trip interruptions and Kait worked day & night to make sure our experience was not diminished because of the storm. The Tauck itinerary did the best to cover these 2 large countries.

Most Memorable Moment:

The most memorable moment was dinner under the stars near Uluru (Ayers Rock). It was not on our original itinerary, but due to the cyclone interruption, Kait was able to add it to our schedule and it was fabulous. We all agreed it should be added to the future trips.

We were a group of 33 and we all hit it off from the get-go. Between that and the fact that we had perfect weather and a terrific director (Rob), it truly was the dream trip of a lifetime. The best part was ticking off many items on my bucket list. So much was crammed into the 20 days and we had such special access to everything. Tauck rocks!!!

In what is one of the most complex itineraries I have ever encountered, everything went flawlessly - land water, and air. And we had a very good group of traveling companions. We were blessed with superb weather at every step. Well done all around.

Most Memorable Moment:

Wow! So many. Start with The Sydney Opera House (tour and concert) and the Sydney Harbor cruise. But New Zealand - Marlborough sounds, Milford Sound, and Shotover Canyon Jet Boat rides - was a ten day highlight. We also treasure the quiet moments - meals with excellent wines and new friends.

On the review I gave Marcia at the end of the trip I suggested more time in Auckland, but have reconsidered that. Most Memorable Moment:

The highlight of my trip was the day we got to go on the Jet Boat in Skippers Canyon, followed by a helicopter ride back to Queenstown. What an adrenaline rush! Then I topped it off by going paragliding over Queenstown, landing on a school's field. I don't think I will ever forget that day.

Most Memorable Moment:

But the reason I am writing is to rave about an opal jeweler that Jim introduced us to in Sydney- Altmann & Cherny. I bought an opal and silver ring there and had it re-sized back in the states. The opal fell out because of re-sizing. I sent it back to Australia and Altmann&Cherny graciously replaced the replaced opal charging nothing.

We really enjoyed this experience!! This is nothing like you have ever experienced before. Everyone is very friendly and we went everywhere! Tauck really planned this out well. We had a fellow traveler sing opera inside the Sydney Opera House and went on a jet boat ride on a river in a canyon in New Zealand!! What a ride!

Most Memorable Moment:

Private air took us to each of our destinations because we had so much land to cover and the helicopter ride around the Great Barrier Reef after we snorkeled!!!

This trip was several years in planning and had very high expectations. I was not dissapointed; as usual, Tauck delivered. Great tour directors (had 3 different ones for unforseen reasons!), hotels with very good to great food and service and invariably very convenient locations. Would tweak a few things, but overall a fantastic trip.

Most Memorable Moment:

Hands down, Queenstown, NZ. Besides it being an amazingly beautiful place, in one day we were on a jet boat, a helicopter, a gondola, went paragliding (on my own) and down a mountain several times on a luge (go there and find out what it is!). Ah, yes, having our own private plane to move around in NZ. Very memorable, very cool!

Everything about the Spotlight on New Zealand trip was exceptional. The charter flights were a perfect way to get around and to see the diversity of New Zealand's landscapes below. Every day was filled with first class delights and we truly felt each destination couldn't have been better planned.

Most Memorable Moment:

Every day was memorable but the cruise out to the Marlborough Sound for lunch and the 'adventure day' in Queenstown were tops.

I could not have had a better time. So many of the people on the tour became friends to hang out with. As our tour director always says this if my one of my favorite days, how do I chose? Same goes for the best of the trip but there are a few highlights. and a few disappointments, but overall the greatest trip I have taken. It was my 9th.

Most Memorable Moment:

Going to Symphony at the Opera House. Taking helicopter ride to top of glacier after Milford Sound tour. Disappointed at the Great Barrier Reef it was over used would have preferred a small ship for those of use only wanting to snorkel. Also, did not like the cable car dinner in Melbourne. We felt it was a waste of the night. Loved TD Linda

Excellent trip well oorganized. The tour guide did an outstanding job. The only disappiontment on the trip was the visit to the Great Barrier reef. The location chosen was crowded with not much sea life. A few years ago I signed up on a trip from Cairns, on a smaller boat, and was perfect.

How does Tauck do it? We traveled for 20 days through Australia and New Zealand, visiting virtually every "must see" location in both countries and never had a hiccup in the flow of the tour. At every new destination, our coach or plane was ready and waiting for us to hop on and continue our journey. Our tour director & guides were fantastic!

The trip was GREAT. Greg, the director, was most kind and considerate and very knowledgable. He made the trip the best of the the four Tauck tours we have taken. Australia was great. New Zealand was magnificient! We would love to go back. There is not enough space to talk about the highlights.

Most Memorable Moment:

Hard to say... The countries were beautiful. The people we met there were pleasant. All of us on the tour got along so well. To say that the trip was pleasant would be an understatement. PS We have another Tauck trip planned for October.

A great way to see the land down under. We really enjoyed our stops and visits along the way. Uluru at dusk was fantastic and the optional flight over the Great Barrier Reef was outstanding. We also enjoyed the hot air balloon in the early morning light and the flight over the Roos.

Most Memorable Moment:

Our chartered air flights in New Zealand were high on our list of memorable moments. It was great to have our Tour Director there to hand you an early drink upon boarding, and then to follow up with a snack before take-off. And, some of us got to sit IN the cockpit at take-offs or landings. Not to mention driving up to the boarding ramp to board. Fabulous!

Twenty days of one memorable experience after another. Each day had something new and something exciting. Our Tour Director was fantastic. Her recollection of details as we traveled from one place to another was amazing. Every day she provided additional background on the places we were seeing. This made the trip extra special!

Most Memorable Moment:

Ayers Rock, The Great Barrier Reef, and Sydney are each unique places in Australia, but New Zealand is special. We especially enjoyed the catamaran cruise in Pelorus Sound, off the South Island, where green lipped mussels are farmed. What can be better than eating freshly steamed mussels with a glass of locally produced sauvignon blanc wine!

We enjoyed our trip, although not as much as we have enjoyed other trips with Tauck. My impression was that Tauck did a great job and tried to meet the interests and needs of all of the group. There was pretty much something for everyone. Insufficient space to go into detail. WAY too much shopping time for stuff one can get either online or in U.S.

Most Memorable Moment:

We indeed were treated royally with excellent accommodations everywhere.
