Tauck Launches 2018 Bridges Family Trips with New Brochure and Airfare Savings… Both for Younger Travelers Only

Company Releases New “Just For Kids” Travel Brochure and Teams with Airline Partners to Trim 50% Off Children’s Flights to Europe

WILTON, CT (November 8, 2017)  Tauck is rolling out the red carpet for younger travelers with its 2018 collection of Tauck Bridges family trips.  The company has introduced a special “kids-only” print brochure highlighting its tours and cruises, and in cooperation with its airline partners, Tauck is also reducing airfares by 50% for travelers age 12 and under heading to Europe with their parents or grandparents next year.

Tauck’s new 56-page “Just for Kids” brochure is designed and written to appeal specifically to younger travelers.  Featuring bright graphics, bold layout, casual fonts, and playfully-worded text, the brochure avoids conventional day-by-day itineraries.  Instead, each Bridges journey is presented as a collection of several elements: a word cloud of included experiences, a fun and interesting destination-related fact, info on one of the trip’s key activities, and an enticing aspect of a featured hotel property.

In addition, the different Bridges journeys are organized in the brochure by interest, rather than by geography, into three categories: Animal Encounters (itineraries in Africa, Latin America and Alaska where wildlife features prominently), Natural Wonders (trips noted for their amazing outdoor landscapes and adventures), and Landmark Sites (journeys to cultural icons in Europe).

The brochure also contains a Q&A interview with a young traveler who has been on three Bridges journeys (to Europe, Costa Rica and the American Southwest) and brief profiles on several of the Tauck tour guides, or Tauck Directors, who lead Bridges trips.  The company first pioneered the idea of a “kids-only” brochure last year, introducing it initially as a digital publication.

To further entice younger travelers (and the parents or grandparents who pay for their trips) Tauck is offering 50% off the price of economy-class airfare to Europe for children age 12 and under.  To qualify, children must be 12 or younger at the time of travel, and flights must be booked in conjunction with a Tauck Bridges European land journey or river cruise.

“We’re thrilled to be working with our airline partners to reduce the cost of children’s flights to Europe,” said Tauck CEO Dan Mahar.  “We know from our guests that high airfares to Europe can be a real obstacle for families, and our Bridges trips – in fact, all of Tauck’s journeys – are about making it easy and hassle-free for guests to enjoy enriching and memorable travel experiences.  Making airfares to Europe more affordable is just another way we can facilitate those kinds of meaningful travel experiences for our guests.”

In all, Tauck will offer 19 Bridges journeys in 2018, to Europe, North America, Latin America and Africa.  Ten Bridges trips – six land tours plus river cruises on the Danube, Rhine, Rhone and Seine – are eligible for the reduced airfares.  To qualify for the lower fares, bookings must be made and deposited by December 29, 2017.  Fares are subject to availability, and other terms and conditions apply.  Those interested can visit their local travel professional, or call Tauck at 800 468 2825.

About Tauck Bridges.
Each Tauck Bridges trip is built around the company’s "shared enrichment" philosophy, with activities that can be enjoyed by all family generations.  Bridges trips let families experience the joys of travel together, and build the bonds (or "bridges") that naturally occur as a result of those shared experiences.  This approach stands in contrast to many popular family travel options, which emphasize generation-specific facilities and activities (i.e., kids clubs or special kids areas on cruise ships, adults-only restaurants, etc).  Tauck believes that the demands of daily life already pull family members in different directions, and that travel should be a time to reconnect rather than a period of continued separation.

Tauck Bridges trips are also notable for having all major vacation expenses included in a simple, upfront, all-inclusive price, and for delivering outstanding value. Tauck also prides itself on providing access to unique experiences that travelers would find difficult, if not impossible, to arrange on their own.  Families visiting Rome with Tauck, for example, enjoy a private, after-hours tour of the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums, rather than joining with the roughly 25,000 other travelers who visit during regular hours on a typical day.  And families sailing on Tauck Bridges’ Danube river cruise enjoy a magical, exclusive “Imperial Evening” including dinner and musical performances inside a private palace in Vienna.
